Vale of Glamorgan Green Party announce local candidate

The Vale Green Party are pleased to announce that local resident Anthony Slaughter will be standing as the Green Party candidate in the St Augustine’s ward in May’s Local Elections.
Anthony, aged 49, is a garden designer who has lived and worked in Penarth for the last eight years. He is very well known in the community thanks in part to his involvement with local environmental group Gwyrddio Penarth Greening (GPG).
As a member of GPG’s Management Committee Anthony’s involvement has included organising the planting and maintenance of Penarth’s community orchard and he is also a part of the small team that organised both the Penarth Local Food Festival and Apple Day events in 2011. Anthony is also involved with the various community garden projects that GPG are working on with other local groups.
‘My involvement with various community projects has shown me that there is a very strong local interest in community issues and a keen desire amongst people to be involved in working together to make Penarth a more sustainable town and building on its many assets that make it such a great place to live’ said Anthony.
Anthony is also a member of The Board of Governors at Bute Cottage Nursery
